Artisanal Story
The fallen rose is an emblematic design of San Miguel, drawn with the 'sobretrama' method. This is one of the most challenging designs, which requires 32 'illahua' sticks. The northern Andean village goes through a cycle of 6 months of rain and 6 months of sunshine. When the rains cease, the roses begin to bloom. Our first fabric for this dress was woven by Gloria Chuquijajas. The final product has been named after her.
